Artificial intelligence has been rapidly establishing itself at the core of modern society. In response to the growing demand for highly skilled AI professionals who will lead the future, Ajou University opened the Department of Artificial Intelligence under the Graduate School in April 2020. In particular, we were selected as a recipient of the Ministry of Education's Phase 4 BK21 Grant in the same year, laying the foundation for fostering innovative talent. Additionally, in 2023, we were chosen for the Graduate School AI Convergence and Innovation, receiving government support for advancing AI education and research.

Our department offers a comprehensive and systematic curriculum covering fundamental, core, advanced, and interdisciplinary AI studies, designed for students from diverse academic backgrounds such as computer science, industrial engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, and mathematics. In addition, we operate specialized education programs that train AI experts by leveraging strong collaborative networks with leading universities, research institutes, and major AI companies both domestically and internationally. These programs focus on applying AI technologies across various domains, including healthcare, social safety, and digital well-being.
